Another Significant Milestone - 21

Birthdays - don't we all love them? 12th September 2011 was the day that my youngest sis, the baby in the family turns 21. When I took a walk down memory lane and recalled my 21st birthday, it seemed like eternity....but I digress. Anyhow, she sourced out this cute-looking restaurant, Hosted on the Patio to host her party at and it was quite a success. Though it was located at a secluded area in Alexandra, it was surprisingly a full house on that Saturday evening.

We loved how whimsical the entire place looked, with such a friendly and beckoning air about it. I couldn't think of a more suitable and lovely place for a 21st birthday. The look of the restaurant seemed to depict the conversion to adulthood and being on the brink of maturity - not that of the sophisticated but almost coming of age.

The food didn't especially impress but I guess that wasn't the key focus. The ambience set the mood and we soaked in the fun party atmosphere. My sis and her friends had a ball of a time and the live band did a lively rendition of the birthday song. Coincidentally, someone else who shared the same name with her was celebrating her 28th birthday at the next table! I don't have a photo of my sis's birthday cake, which she ordered from Crummb, but it was the most adorable sight.

I will be keeping busy with work travels for the month of September, so blogging (and baking) will have to wait until October. I look forward to feeding myself well and checking out the sights and sounds amidst the limited R&R time that I have there. Adios!
